Captain Kirk Sets Phaser to Stun

Okay, I know that this isn't fair for people that don't subscribe to Rich Miller's Capitol Fax, (money well spent by the way), but man, does Sen. Kirk Dillard lay into the Governor today. Rich gave Dillard a chance to respond to the Pete Giangreco attack piece on Edgar and the Senator did not squander his opportunity.

He lights into Rod for everything from his Golden Gloves record to his vote against school reform as a Rep to his approval rating...and then some.

At this rate, a Blagojevich/Edgar race is shaping up to be a slugfest.

"The people of Illinois want a leader who will BE Governor, not PLAY Governor."

If Pete landed some kidney punches last week, Sen. Dillard landed the first haymakers.

Should be fun hearing the rebuttal.

While Pete's comments had substance backed up with facts and actual numbers, Dilliard resorted to the tired, negative, same old stuff.
He should have told us which way Edgar would flip or flop on school funding reform or why the horse racing industry gets subsidised by state government or why Edgar made the largest tax increase in history permanent after draining public pension funds without providing relief for poor school districts with no tax base. Why didn't he talk about the billions wasted on Build Illinois and Illinois First and other pork that the repubs regularly doled out for almost 30 years to curry favor from the rich and influential. Does anybody believe that Edgar and Thompson are paid hundreds of millions a year from their various private ventures because of their great competence in the private sector?
I can't believe that voters actually elect Dillard to public office!

"...Edgar and Thompson are paid hundreds of millions a year"?! And you claim that it's Dillard throwing out unsubstantiated negative stuff? Get real.

Oh, don't get your panties in a wad.

If there is anything to be learned here,it's that both sides have a lot of ammunition and a lot of mud, and that both sides will be more than willing to use both. I think that the voters are going to look for the person that can do the best job of providing hope not dirt.

Dillard said that Edgar did not raise taxes. That is a total lie. Period

Edgar made the sur-tax, that was set to expire, permanent making the hard working people of Illinois continue to pay the LARGEST tax increase in Illinois history. That is a tax increase. Period

Half of the money that was colleted from the sur-tax went back to the counties from where it was colleted. Edgar took that money away from the Counties and put many of those Counties in finacial hardship that they have yet to recover from.

Edgar also implemented the gas sales tax, increased hunting and fishing license over 100%, raised the permit cost of hunting for pheasent on state run hunting reserves 100% and much more.

Edgar also tried and failed to raise income tax again in what he called a tax swap.

Every tax and fee increase that Edgar imposed came straight out of the pockets of working men and women and their families.

We are still paying for them today.

We all might welcome Edgar with the way the Blagojevich administration is continuously keeping business as usual the same way George Ryans administration ran state government and then was slapped with an indictment.

Everything that Rod said he would do, remains to be seen. He has patched bandaged Child Support and left the evil, fraudulators, ghost payrollers and mismanaged management inside to continue to do the same corruptness as was done in the past.

The Office of Executive Inspector General is a joke.

What has been accomplshed? How much of the ongoing of the OEIG do the public know about? Per the website, whose the EIG and what is being accomplished. Where the news? Where the accountability? Where the Ethics?

Politics aside, I was hired in state government by an Special Aid to Edgar not based upon any political donoation or work. I simply informed Jim Boussard, that I wanted a job in state government and he set me for testing. Prior to taking and passing the test, I was offered a temporary job at the Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission. Thereafter, I was permanently hired with the IDPA Division of Child Support Enforcement.

Prior to my employment at Child Support, I would walk passed the building and see employees in front not engaging in professionalism but it looked like a "Public Aid Office in the loop".
I used to say to myself as I passed 32 W. Randolph, "I would never want to work there".

Well look where I was sent, to Child Support, the place I didn't want to work. While there I experienced working for the worst people probably in State.

After experiencing the worst job in my entire life, I decided to tell someone about it and "blow the whistle" on corruption, mismanagment and more in Child Support.

I informed Governor George Ryan. He responded to my complaints and whistleblower information but allowed the management of Child Support and Public Aid, including then Director Jackie Garner, IDPA's Office of Inspector General, the entire Department, to harass me for "blowing the whistle".

I was fired on September 12, 2001, the day after the September 11th attack on the country. Tell me how many state employees came downtown on September 12, 2001, not to mention to work!

Since, I have been "fighting" with Rod Blagojevich, the Illinois Attorney General and simultaneously litigating through court(s) to obtain my job. I have a letter from Rod's office stating they would reinstate my employment with the State of Illinois, I have a letter from someone who signed the letter "Brenda" with no title, from the Illinois Dept. of Employment Security stating the Governor had asked her to assist me obtain my unemployment benefits (yes I was denied unemployment). The Director of Employment Security name is Brenda Russel. Whomever sent this letter did not sign a last name or title.

To date, my employment hasn't been reinstated, my unemployment has not been released and all the initiator of the "Paternity Fraud" and other violations of laws are still employed with the state. In fact, I had to sue the former Executive Inspector General for her violations of laws. Which is probably why she up and left abruptly after receiving the complaint.

So tell me that Rod Blagojevich does not know who I am or how bogus this state has played me. That what Rod likes. He likes crooks! And those trying to do the right thing he ignores. I even placed information in his hand when he visited Child Support on June 30, 2005 and he promised he would read it and get back to me.

To date, I have not heard from Rod "keep the business the same" Blagojevich or his tacky administration that strays him in the wrong directions, like the bling leading the blind.

Again, politics aside, Edgar has proven to me to have some Ethics; "a distinguished gentleman" while Blagojevich has proven to be a liar.

I welcome someone whose going to play by the rules and abide by all of the laws even their own.

I know Edgar would give me my job back, after all he gave it to me.

Another good reason not to support Jim.
