New and Improved

I was going to look at something on the Board of Elections site and noticed that they have a brand new website.

It's not the easiest thing on the eyes, but it looks to be much more comprehensive than the old site. (Plus, it's refreshing to see a state website that doesn't have the Governor's name placed all over it.)

It's a shame they didn't put their time and resources into updating the IDIS software. Filing with the state board's antiquated software is like giving up Vista to go back to Windows 3.1.

Is there any reason they (still) don't have direct links to fundraising reports and report subsections? At this time, all links will take you only to the main page for a committee, so it's impossible to link directly to, for example, your 2008 Pre-Primary D2 filing.

Content aside, the graphic link to "Election Authorities" in the header looks like a Dorito that someone put on eBay because it looked like the State of Illinois. :)
