Off topic but at least substantive: John, do you know what happened to Darfur sanctions against Sudan? The original ones were struck by a federal judge (in a lawsuit brought by a shadowy group representing large business interests), but 1) the judge gave guidelines as to what sanctions he would find acceptable and 2) Congress has since passed a law (Bush signed it) which would seem to permit the original sanctions.
So, has Illinois passed new sanctions for the only officially declared (by Congress) genocide of my lifetime? Or is it "no, we can't."
