Good Time, Great Cause

Engine Company 22 is located in the heart of Lincoln Park, on Armitage, a little east of Halsted. They've got a great group of firefighters over there, always have.

Last week, we had an inaugural lunch to commemorate the new kitchen that they have installed (replacing the last one, which served three shifts, 24/7/365 for the last 36 years). But there's still work to be done to get the firehouse back into the shape that it should be in.

To help continue the restoration, there is going to be a benefit party this Thursday night at Kincade's right down the street.

Good time, great cause. Stop over there. (Click on the flier for a larger image)

These guys service my neighborhood so its really sad that millions in sweet-heart deals go to Emil Jones, Blago's and Mayor Daley's family, friends and insiders and millions more in increased taxes yet our firehouses need to hold socials to raise money for renovation.

John in addition to asking tax payers to refund their fire houses with charity (really an additional tax even though its voluntary) why not go to the house floor and pass the flyers around to get donations from the political class. I am pretty sure they have alligator arms when money has to come out of their own pocket but Maybe you could shame these guys into dropping political pork for real services to taxpayers.

Patrick,

Great idea, but unfortunately the event is tomorrow, and we haven't been in session in a few weeks.
